NEW SPECIES RECORDS OF MANTODEA, ORTHOPTERA, AND PHASMATODEA IN THE STATE OF TEXAS (USA)

Abstract With its large size and range of habitats, Texas has one the most diverse insect faunas United States with many endemic species. Despite more than a century active study, knowledge diversity in remains incomplete. Here, we report 19 species subspecies records Mantodea, Orthoptera, Phasmatodea for first time (USA) based on museum specimens. These include several significant geographic extensions (from eastern, southern, western species) such as phasmid Diapheromera carolina Scudder, band-winged grasshopper Arphia granulata Saussure, mantid Stagmomantis montana Saussure & Zehntner. also documentation Melanoplus torridus (Roberts) Phaedrotettix gracilis (Bruner) invasive cricket Velarifictorus micado (Saussure) Texas.
